What is ROTC?

The Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) program provides military training to college students to prepare them as reservists for the Armed Forces of the Philippines. It aims to develop leadership skills, discipline, and civic duty through drills, tactical exercises, and leadership training. Integrated into academic curricula at universities/colleges, ROTC allows students to balance studies and training, ensuring they become well-rounded individuals ready for military and civilian careers.

An act providing for the organization, administration, training, maintenance, and utilization of the citizen armed force of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and for other purposes.

Republic Act 9163
(NSTP Law)

is a law that established the NSTP program in the Philippines. This law aims to enhance civic consciousness and defense preparedness among the youth by developing their ethics of service and patriotism through various NSTP components.

Goals

To teach students the values of patriotism, citizenship, leadership, and service to the community.
Help develop personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment while instrilling in them self-discipline, self-esteem, and teamwork.
To prepare the students for responsible leadership roles.
To provide instruction and rewarding opportunities that will benefit the student, the community, and the nation.

Mission and Vision

Mission: To motivate and train tertiary students for national defense, preparing them for service during emergencies while promoting character development and active citizenship.

Vision: To prepare Filipino youth for military service while fostering well-rounded citizens with patriotism, moral values, and respect for others' rights, aligning with the goals of the National Service Training Program (NSTP).

Quick Guidelines and Policies

Honor Code

“A cadet must not lie, cheat, steal, nor tolerate among us those who do.”

Cadets charged with the Honor Code violation will be reported to the PATTS Discipline Office and be given proper demerits and/or sanctions in accordance to the gravity of the offense.

Delinquencies

A delinquency/offense is a failure, fault, or misdeed, as well as a violation of the provision of the PATTS Student Code of Conduct and Discipline (CCD) and 1st Reserve Center, Reserve Command, Philippine Air Force (1RCen, RESCOM, PAF)

A cadet who commits delinquency/offense through neglect, or fails to reach the standards shall be subject to sanctions according to the current regulations.

Absences

Cadets with three (3) consecutive absences will be considered dropped. Cadets with four (4) absences will be considered failed due to absences. Being refused entry to the training venue due to improper bearing is not a valid reason to be excused.

Follow the correct filing procedures when applying for an excuse.

No-Touch Policy

NO-TOUCH POLICY.

Cadet Officers, Military Training Instructors (MTIs), Volunteer Reservist Instructor (VRIs), and even your fellow basic cadet are at no time authorized to touch any part of the body of any cadet without the permission of the latter.

Command Authority

Command Authority and Standard Operating Procedures - Orders must be followed or accomplished. The goal is for cadets to learn, practice, and implement moral and intelligent leadership. It is expected that junior cadets will obey the more senior or higher-ranking cadets. This knowledge follows the Chain of Command. It is also expected that the more senior cadets will exercise good judgment when they give orders.
