Corps of Sponsors

Corps Sponsors maintain exceptional standards of conduct while carrying out the following primary roles:

• Ceremonial Attendance - Participate in official functions, including Military Balls, Pass-in-Review Parades, Commissioning Ceremonies, and Graduation.

• Ambassadorship & Hosting - Act as official hosts for VIPs, visiting dignitaries, guest speakers, and school officials, guiding them smoothly through campus protocols.

• Institutional Support - Serve as formal ushers/usherettes for academic or cultural events—greeting guests, managing seating, and distributing programs.

• Community Relations - Participate in community service, recruitment drives, and public relations initiatives on behalf of the Corps.

• Morale & Welfare - Support cadet welfare initiatives, organize spirit events, and foster a positive command climate.

Recruitment follows a strict, merit-based selection process to ensure transparency and excellence:

Step 1: Submission & Initial Vetting

Candidates must submit an application packet containing:

• Completed Application Form & Official Academic Transcript

• Statement of Intent (essay detailing motivation)

• Two (2) Letters of Recommendation (1 Faculty, 1 Peer/Community Leader)

• Vetting: The ROTC Coordinator and Corps Commander conduct administrative checks to screen for minimum GWA requirements and clear disciplinary records.

Step 2: Panel Interview & Evaluation

Qualified candidates undergo a formal board interview evaluated by:

• The ROTC Coordinator & Academic Officer

• The Corps Commander & Outgoing Corps Sponsor Commander

• Representative from 1RCEN, RESCOM, PAF

• Criteria: Candidates are scored on communication skills, poise under pressure, institutional knowledge, and core values.

Step 3: Deliberation & Final Selection

• Scores and application strengths are aggregated.

• A designated cohort and a ranked list of alternates are selected.

• The board deliberates and appoints the new Sponsor Commander based on exceptional leadership merit.

Step 4: Appointment & Induction

• Selected candidates receive an official Letter of Acceptance within seven (7) business days.

• Appointees attend a mandatory orientation on Corps traditions, customs, and courtesies.

• Candidates are officially pinned and sworn in during the next major ceremonial event (e.g., Knighting and Induction Ceremony).

To recognize their ceremonial duties, the Corps Sponsor Commander and Staff are issued a complete, custom-tailored official uniform set:

• Official Blouse & Skirt

• Official Scarf & Headgear

• Stockings & Black High-Heeled Shoes
